Who would
have thought that a full-fledged Governmental body would be formed to
promote what appears to be a tattered piece of coarse fibre?
The National Jute Board
(NJB) is the apex body for promotion of
Indian Jute.
Set up under "National Jute Board Act, 2008 (No. 12 of 2009)" , the Board
is chaired by the Secretary, Ministry of Textiles, Government of India. The Board's prime objective is to provide better marketing of jute
products, although it addresses itself to multi-dimensional activities. |
